Follow the Queue System for hassle free darshan of Deities

Respect ancient customs and usages while at Shree Jagannatha Temple and promote religions sentiments among co-pilgrims.

Observe absolute silence inside the temple.

Deposit your offerings in the Hundi and Branch Office inside the temple premises.

Keep clean the premises of Shree Jagannatha Temple.

Bath and wear clean clothes before you enter the shrine.

Beware of Pickpocket and monkeys

Dont’s

Consume liquor or other intoxicants during Darshan of the Deities.

Eat non-vegetarian food.

Carry cooked food.

Encourage beggary.

Split or commit nuisance.

Waste water.

Spit, urinate or defecate in the premises of temple.

Foot wear and leather items in and around the premises of the temple.

Carry umbrella, mobile telephone, electronic gadgets, leather items etc.

Do’s work when a Pandit walks with you

Silence, clean clothes, hundi, no leather — the rules are simple; the crowd is not. A Jagannath Mandir Pandit enforces the SOP at the barricade so your family is not turned away.

Know the niti, not the rumour

Dhupa, Alati and Pahuda close or shift the line. A Mandir Pandit reads the live rhythm so you do not stand through a closed door.

Singha Dwara is the public gate

Lion’s Gate is the devotee entry; other gates are mostly exits. Tagging a Pandit keeps you in the correct queue, not a dead end.

Phones and leather stay outside

Free stands at the gate. A Pandit briefs you before the barricade so security does not send you back.

Sahana Mela vs distant glimpse

Close Ratnavedi darshan is not the same as Jagamohan viewing. The Pandit times the window when close darshan is actually allowed.

Offerings without confusion

Hundi, flowers and Mahaprasad have a place. Going with a Pandit stops touts and wrong counters from eating your time.
